Q: |
Why
are your cars more expensive than cars available
at "car sales" and certain other dealers? |
|
A: |
At
AMW we import only the highest quality cars, our
cars are ACCIDENT FREE and always have GENUINE
MILAGE. The cars we choose to import are vehicles
in topping condition and as a result they still
have value in the domestic (Japanese) market. They
also have value to buyers from first world countries
like Australia and New Zealand. Therefore in order
to purchase the best quality cars for you, AMW
has to pay a premium price over other importers.
This of course translates to a slightly higher
price in Sri Lanka, but please remember you are
paying for a genuine and top quality car from AMW,
the sole agent for Nissan for over 43 years. |

Q |
Most
of the cars you have in stock are automatic,
why is this? Are automatic transmission cars
reliable? What are the advantages/disadvantages
of driving an automatic car Vs a Manual transmission
car? |
|
A: |
Automatic
has become the transmission of choice in Japan
and in most other countries although it is a MORE
EXPENSIVE OPTION THAN MANUAL TRANSMISSION, as it
has proven to be highly reliable and convenient
to use in high traffic conditions. In fact the
popularity of automatic transmission is so great
that Manual transmission vehicles will be almost
completely phased out in the Japanese market during
the next couple of years. This fazing out is similar
to the switch from Rear wheel drive to front wheel
drive two decades ago. However there are only two
small disadvantages with an Automatic transmission
equipped car, The fuel efficiency will be slightly
lower and if the battery fails the car cannot be "push
started" it must be "jump started".
One of the biggest advantages apart from the convenience of driving an
auto is that there will be no costly replacement of "Clutch, pressure
place, clutch place etc" |

in is not possible we can sell your car on your
behalf. |
