Nissan Redefines the Drive in Sri Lanka with a Joyfully Modular 7-Seater MPV

15th May 2026, COLOMBO, Sri Lanka: Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW), the exclusive authorized distributor for Nissan in Sri Lanka, has officially unveiled the All-New Nissan GRAVITE. This bold, game-changing 7-seater MPV enters the market at an attractive introductory price starting from LKR 6.99 million. The launch represents a pivotal milestone in Nissan’s brand resurgence and continued commitment to Sri Lanka, following the success of the Nissan Magnite, widely celebrated as the country’s No. 1 selling model. As the third product under the Nissan Motor Co. Product Offensive, the GRAVITE is purpose-built to meet the evolving mobility needs of modern Sri Lankan families, drawing inspiration from rituals that shape the nation’s diversity.

Design and Inspiration

The All-New Nissan GRAVITE establishes a distinct and confident identity aligned with Nissan’s global design language, featuring elevated proportions, muscular body lines, and high ground clearance suited to diverse Sri Lankan driving conditions. It is the only vehicle in its segment to feature distinctive hood branding and unique rear-door badging, reinforced by Nissan’s signature C-shaped design integration at the front and rear for instant brand recognition. Exterior highlights include all-round LED treatment with signature headlamps, integrated DRLs, Crystal Edge tail lamps, and LED fog lamps, complemented by a unique Piano Black 2D grille, functional roof rails, and wide-opening doors for enhanced practicality.

Interior: Pioneering Modularity Meets Family Comfort

Redefining family mobility with exceptional cabin roominess, the GRAVITE is designed to adapt seamlessly to both daily commutes and long journeys. The interior features premium suede and leatherette quilted seats with generous space across all three rows, offering flexible seating for 2 to 7 occupants. Modularity is a key focus, with easily removable third-row seats that expand the boot space to a segment-leading 625 liters in a 5-seater configuration, or 320 liters and 84 liters for 6 and 7-seater setups respectively. Comfort is maintained via tropicalized AC with 3-row vents and separate second-row controls, alongside best-in-class storage including upper and lower cooled glove boxes and a cooled center console.

Technology and Connectivity

The All-New Nissan GRAVITE integrates modern technologies to enhance convenience and driving confidence for the modern user. Key technological features include a floating 20.32 cm Infotainment system equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 17.78 cm full Digital Advanced Multi-Functional Cluster, and a wireless charger. The vehicle also boasts advanced convenience features such as Auto LED Headlamps with a “follow me home” function, Walk Away Lock (WAL) and Approach Unlock (AUL) capabilities, and front and rear parking sensors.

Comprehensive Safety as Standard

Safety remains a core pillar of the GRAVITE’s value proposition, offering over 30 standard safety features designed to deliver peace of mind for families across varied driving environments. This comprehensive standard package includes 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and Hill-Start Assist (HSA). Additional safety technologies include a Brake Assist System (BAS), ABS with EBD, and seat belt reminders for all occupants, ensuring enhanced stability, confident handling, and maximum occupant protection.

Powertrain: Tuned for Everyday Confidence

The All-New Nissan GRAVITE is powered by an efficient 1.0L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, thoughtfully calibrated for the everyday mobility needs of Sri Lankan families. It delivers smooth acceleration and predictable performance with 72PS of power and 96Nm of peak torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed EZ-shift (AMT) transmission. This combination prioritizes reliability and ease of use, achieving fuel economy of 19.6 km/l for the AT variant and 19.3 km/l for the MT variant without compromising on refinement.

Limited Launch Edition: Elevated Experience

For a limited period, the All-New Nissan GRAVITE will be available in a curated Launch Edition designed to enhance comfort and convenience. This premium edition includes speakers by JBL, a dual dash cam, an air purifier, and ambient mood lighting, along with comfort additions like neck and lumbar cushions. Aesthetically, the Launch Edition features C-shaped aero accents, wheel arch aero inserts, drift flow graphics, a door visor, a premium chrome beltline, and a chrome gear bezel to provide an elevated visual experience.

Representing a decisive step in Nissan’s rejuvenated portfolio, the GRAVITE establishes a strong foundation for sustained growth alongside an expanding dealer network in Tier II and Tier III cities. With the upcoming Tekton C-SUV in mid-2026 and a 7-seater C-SUV in early 2027, Nissan’s roadmap signals a confident multi-segment offensive in the Sri Lankan market.
