AMW Celebrates International Women’s Day with Initiatives that Empower and Inspire

Associated Motorways (Private) Limited (AMW) marked International Women’s Day with a series of meaningful initiatives designed to recognize, appreciate, and empower the women who contribute to the organization’s success across its diverse operations.

As part of the celebrations held across multiple locations, all female employees were appreciated through a unique cross-functional initiative where male representatives from different departments presented tokens of appreciation. This gesture symbolized the spirit of collaboration, mutual respect, and inclusivity that defines the AMW workplace culture.

Further strengthening its commitment to employee development and wellbeing, AMW organized a special guest lecture for the Aftersales team and female staff at the Kalutara Factory. The session focused on key themes such as personal branding, employee wellness and advocacy, work–life balance, and career growth, providing participants with practical insights to support both their professional and personal journeys.

The session was conducted by Ms. Shevanthi Fernando, a seasoned consultant with over two decades of experience in Human Resources and Learning & Development, who shared valuable perspectives drawn from her extensive career as a working professional.

Following the lecture, participating employees were invited on a guided factory tour, offering them a closer look at the manufacturing and operational processes at the Kalutara facility. The experience helped strengthen awareness and appreciation of the organization’s operational capabilities while encouraging greater cross-functional understanding.

Through these initiatives, AMW reaffirmed its commitment to creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity, encourages professional growth, and recognizes the important role women play in driving the organization forward.
